The first completed job since the new website went live took place this Saturday. Two pairs of full length curtains with upholstered pelmets, lined and interlined. for a large sitting room. The house in question was a 1960’s built house in Croydon, a London suburb, so it was quite fitting that the fabric we chose was Chelsea from Sanderson’s Vintage 2 collection. ‘ Chelsea’ was designed in 1957 by Ken Trueman, Chief designer for Sanderson at the time, Trueman was highly skilled in painting roses. This fabric has not been out of production since. In February of this year new colours were introduced to appeal to todays younger generation and the design was included in The Vintage 2 collection. The whole collection has been created using favourite patterns from the early to mid 20th century. Cottage florals and patterns, seaside and hunting scenes, birds and berries all in fresh colours give a vintage vibe which work well in todays contemporary homes. The collection is proving popular, with another job under way using Cecile Rose.
At Bromley Curtains and Blinds we usually make our own cushions but Sanderson do have some lovely ready made cushions to accompany this collection, backed with sumptuous velvets and linens. Contact us for more information or to receive a brochure.
